Arne slot comments on Salah's future

Mohamed Salah acknowledged that this might be his last season at Liverpool, but Arne Slot has downplayed rumors that the winger is leaving the club.

Salah, who made the move to Anfield in 2017, scored Liverpool's third goal against Manchester United on Sunday to guarantee a 3-0 win at Old Trafford. He's enjoyed an incredible career on Merseyside, collating Premier League and Champions League accolades while being regarded as one of the Reds' most talented players.

His current deal is scheduled to expire in June, and the winger disclosed following Sunday's victory that the club has not yet discussed the possibility of extending his stay.

In response, Slot insisted there is a long way to go before fans need to start worrying about Salah's future.

"It's a lot of ‘if’," he told reporters. "At this moment he is one of ours and I am really happy with him being one of ours and he played really well. I don't talk about contracts from players but I can talk for hours about how Mo played.

"Everything that you want to see as a manager you saw in this game. There were difficult moments for us, United started really well but then we were disallowed a goal and there was no negative reaction.

"We kept on playing, scoring three, we could have scored more, two important saves from Alisson and the work rate was incredibly well without the ball and that makes it a very positive day."

Liverpool defeated Ipswich Town, Brentford, and United to go into the international break undefeated. On September 14, they will host Nottingham Forest in their next game.
