Liverpool to face Real Madrid and Man City in a back-back fixtures as champions league fixtures was confirmed

Real Madrid and Manchester City will play back-to-back matches at Anfield in November, according to Liverpool's confirmed Champions League schedule.

LFollowing the confirmation of their Champions League schedule following their return to the competition, Liverpool was handed a nightmare run of fixtures that will see them host Real Madrid and Man City in consecutive games. rne Slot’s men found out their eight opponents in Thursday’s draw after the revamped expansion of Europe’s elite club competition.

Handed a tough draw, Liverpool discovered they would host reigning champions Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Bologna, while also facing trips to RB Leipzig, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven and Girona.

They had to wait until Saturday, though, as UEFA has now confirmed their league-phase fixture list, to find out which order their league matches would fall in and how they would fit into their overall schedule.

The Reds will open their account away at AC Milan on Tuesday 17 September, while their final league game will take place at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday 29 January.

Their mouth-watering clash with Real Madrid will take place on Wednesday 27 November in matchweek four, just days before they host Man City at Anfield on Saturday 30 November. It is then followed by a midweek trip to Newcastle United on Wednesday 4 December.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso will return to Anfield with Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday 5 November in matchweek three.

Liverpool also face a tough run in October where their trip to RB Leipzig on Wednesday 23 October falls in between a home clash with Chelsea on Saturday 19 October and away trip to Arsenal on Sunday 27 October.

Seven of their league matches will kick off at 8pm, with their away trip to Girona on Tuesday 10 December their only fixture scheduled to start at 5.45pm. Matchweek six will feature this kind of draw after Saturday, December 7th's away trip to Everton for the first Merseyside derby of the year.
